Coy Road Closure (North & South of Navarre Avenue) & Navarre Ave Lane Restrictions (one lane in each direction through Coy Road Intersection)
Beginning Monday, July 18, 2022, it shall be necessary to completely close Coy Road at Navarre Avenue to all traffic and reduce Navarre Avenue to one lane of traffic in each direction through the Coy Road intersection. The road and lane closures are necessary to permit Columbia Gas to replace an existing gas line on Navarre Avenue in the vicinity of Coy Road.
Also beginning Monday, July 18, 2022 through approximately Friday, November 18, 2022, Navarre Avenue and Coy Road motorists can expect to experience possible lane closures in the area of Navarre Avenue and Coy Road Intersection, with possible delays, especially during peak hours. The lane closures are necessary to permit E. S. Wagner Company to construct additional lanes, install medians / U-turn lanes, upgrade traffic signals, replace existing Coy Road Bridge over Amolsch Ditch and install various other improvements as part of the Navarre/Coy Intersection Safety Improvements Project (LUC-2-22.51, PID 109596).
Unless notified otherwise, the entrance drives to properties within the closure area will remain open throughout the closure period.
The signed detour route for Coy Road traffic south of Navarre Avenue will be Brown Rd & Wheeling St.
The closure of Coy Road south of Navarre Avenue is expected to be opened by Friday, September 16, 2022.
The signed detour route for Coy Road traffic north of Navarre Avenue will be Starr Avenue & Wheeling St.
The closure of Coy Road north of Navarre Avenue is expected to be opened by Friday, October 7, 2022, which includes the replacement of the existing bridge over Amolsch Ditch.
