Arbor Day Celebration (Tree Planting)

The City of Oregon invites everyone to attend Oregon’s Arbor Day Celebration on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at South Shore Veterans Park (corner of Bay Shore Road and Stadium Road). Join us as we celebrate the planting of an Autumn Blaze Maple, known for its vibrant orange-red foliage, and an American Elm to commemorate America’s 250th Celebration.

These trees will provide important environmental benefits, including shelter and food for wildlife, carbon dioxide absorption to help mitigate climate change, and improved soil stability through their deep root systems. They will also enhance the beauty of the park and provide shade for years to come.

The City is honored to hold this distinction and proudly celebrates over 30 years as a Tree City USA community!
