What’s new in Oregon this week? We’re glad you asked! Below is a list of updates and information about what’s happening this week in our community! We hope you find this helpful as we continue to proper and grow as a city. There is a lot going on and we can’t wait to share it with you!

🔹 Staff met with representatives of the company looking to build a natural gas power plant. We talked about the steps they are taking to get the approvals necessary to move forward with the project. This due diligence period can take many months and likely wouldn’t break ground until sometime in 2027 at the earliest. The representatives also met with the Ohio Power Siting Board in Columbus this week to discuss their permit.

🔹 Staff met with the developer of the Town Center. We received updated plans and have an Architectural Review Committee meeting scheduled for next week to give the first building the approval needed to schedule a groundbreaking date.

🔹 Staff met with representatives of OHM to review the presentation materials for the Comprehensive Plan Update Open House scheduled for April 3rd. The public meeting will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Challenger Learning Center. This will be the presentation of the final draft of the plan. We will be taking final input on the plan before it is finalized and adopted.
