Oregon Fire/Rescue Department, Lucas County, Ohio is accepting applications for the position of Battalion Chief in the Fire Department. Oregon Fire/Rescue Department is a combination fire department with 21 career full-time firefighter Paramedic/EMT-Basic and 60 part-time members operating from 3 fire stations and 1 training center. The department provides fire and EMS services (3500 + incidents per year) to a population of nearly 21,000 residents. The City of Oregon encompasses a total area of 38.04 square miles, of which 29.98 square miles is land and 8.06 square miles is water bordering Lake Erie.
The position will report directly to the Fire Chief in the "unclassified service" and be responsible for performing a variety of duties related to planning, directing, and evaluating Career and Part-time employees in all daily operations of the fire/rescue department. Applicants must possess the following Ohio certifications: Paramedic, Firefighter II; Fire Instructor; Live Fire Instructor; EMS CE Instructor Certification (required within one year) and Fire Safety Inspector (required within one year); minimum of ten (10)years of career firefighter/paramedic experience preferred with work history as a line supervisor, and valid driver's license.

Oregon Fire/Rescue Department is a combination fire department with 21 career full-time firefighter Paramedic/EMT-Basic and 60 part-time members operating from 3 fire stations and 1 training center. The department provides fire and EMS services (3500 + incidents per year) to a population of nearly 21,000 residents. The City of Oregon encompasses a total area of 38.04 square miles, of which 29.98 square miles is land and 8.06 square miles is water bordering Lake Erie.
The position will report directly to the Fire Chief in the "unclassified service" and be responsible for performing inspections and re-inspections to ensure compliance with the Ohio Fire Code. The position will also be involved with public education, public relations, record keeping, report writing, and other duties as required. Applicants must possess the following Ohio certifications: Current State of Ohio Fire Safety Inspector Certification, five years active certification and experience as a fire safety inspector, and a valid driver's license.
Pay range: $28.59 - $29.81 per hr - 5 steps. The City of Oregon is accepting applications for a Sewer Camera Operator. Position reports to the Streets Supt and is responsible for performing a variety of activities related to the operation, maintenance and repair of CCTV and high-pressure cleaning equipment; municipal wastewater collection systems and storm sewers; performs routine manual labor work required in general city maintenance and repair operations, recording data related to such, conducting inspections, and keeping records. Must have high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate and two years' verifiable experience operating and maintaining closed circuit television for sewer inspection; operation and maintenance of sanitary and storm water collection systems. Working knowledge in sewer and manhole rehabilitation techniques, infiltration/inflow mitigation techniques, service lateral inspection, flow monitoring techniques and root control management systems. Must obtain Class A Commercial Driver's License with air brakes and tanker endorsement within 90 days of appointment. NASSCO Pipeline Assessment program preferred. Current salary range: $63,148 -$74,443.
