The City of Oregon is accepting applications for the position of City Administrator. The City Administrator is the chief administrative officer of the city and is responsible to the Mayor and City Council for the direction and supervision of all service and safety departments, preparation and implementation of operational and capital budgets, supervision of human resource practices, and economic development initiatives. The City of Oregon provides a full range of municipal services, including water and wastewater plant operations, employing approximately 270 full and part­time employees, with approximately a $75M budget for all funds. Mayor is elected for a four-year term, with seven-member Council elected for four­year staggered terms. Requires a degree in Public Administration or related field, with graduate degree preferred; at least five years’ experience in responsible public management position (or equivalent); ability to effectively communicate with elected officials, employees, and citizenry; and record of success managing diverse operations in a union setting. Desire experience in intergovernmental relations and record of success in economic development.
